Making Friends with the President
The President of The United States of America waved at Eva and me. On Sunday evening we went to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. The evening had a bit of a breeze and after spending all day in our "cozy" apartment we needed some fresh air. We headed over to DC to see the monuments lit up at night. Eva and I were standing outside of the monument looking out over the Potomac River watching the Washington monument light up when I hear a helicopter approaching. I was surprised at how low it was flying this close to the White House. It flew right in front of us and I recognized it as Marine One the President's helicopter. I was pointing it out to Eva and she was waving at it when we saw an arm, in a suit coat, wave back. The helicopter then flew past the Lincoln Memorial and turned in the direction of the White House and disappeared below the tree line. Paul, Jack and Lily missed the whole thing.
